Bristol Sunset Beach

The holidays return, we love the sun and the beach and with the children the good weather helps. So, we decided to repeat the destination of last year and enjoy Corralejo again.

Fuerteventura, we found a perfect place, as it is quiet, safe and at the same time there are many activities to do. If you take advantage of the weather and the conditions that the island gives you, there is time for everything.

Traveling with children is not an easy task, but luckily, we have accustomed our children to travel regularly and it is becoming less complicated to move the whole family on vacation.

We are from Madrid and a few years ago we moved to Holland, for this reason, our children have travelled since they were very small, but it’s now when we start to see that they really enjoy what it’s to know new places, learn how other people live and have fun in very different environments from what they are used to.

We had already been to Corralejo, but we didn’t mind repeating and, in fact, it was during these vacations that we saw them enjoying themselves to the fullest, laughing, learning how to do water sports and that was because the chosen destination could have been better than Fuerteventura.

When we were choosing destination, we wanted a place not only to sunbathe and be on the beach, we wanted the children to enjoy the holidays, but taking advantage of them to do what they can’t do in Holland during the winter. And in turn, we could relax and have time to also do activities. That’s why we liked Fuerteventura and especially Bristol Sunset Beach apartments in Corralejo and the idea of having it all in one, that is, traveling to a paradisiacal place where you can relax in the sun, but perfect to squeeze every day from the beach and practical to have the activities to do active tourism and sport one step from the room.

Once the destination was chosen, we went looking for accommodation, something not so easy when you go with two children of 9 and 11 years old and a baby of 1 year old. After looking at different offers and hotels, we came up with the idea of going back to an apartment, so we could feel at home on our holidays.

Last year we had already stayed at the apartment complex Bristol Sunset Beach, an accommodation in Corralejo, a town located on the northeast coast of Fuerteventura. We chose this apartment complex because apart from offering the accommodation itself, they also have common areas such as the pool, a chill out roof and Endorfina Club, where they offer various activities to do in the north of the island. Precisely that was what made us decide to stay there, since Bristol Sunset Beach had everything we were looking for.

We started our trip to Fuerteventura and as soon as we arrived, the holiday spirit and good vibes breathed there. At the reception of the apartment complex we were impressed by the treatment and kindness of the receptionists, who always with a smile, welcomed us and explained the rules of the complex making us a summary of everything that makes up Bristol Sunset Beach, the beaches closest and activities for do an active tourism.

We had checked in online from home to avoid waiting for our arrival, which made things easier when we arrived with the children and the suitcases. After the brief explanation we were given the keys to our apartment, along with the Wi-Fi key, a map of Fuerteventura, basic information about points of interest in Corralejo and how to get to the apartment.

The first time we came, when walking through the complex to get to our apartment, we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was the same as in the photos on their website. A new and modern complex, with an excellent location, one step away from the beaches, the Natural Park of Corralejo Dunes and the centre of Corralejo, but quiet and relaxing inside. This second time, it was the same or better, since they had made some improvements and changes.

At Bristol Sunset Beach, there are apartments of various sizes. Ours, was an apartment with a maximum capacity for 6 people, which had a living room with sofa bed, kitchenette, two bedrooms, a bathroom and a balcony that overlooked the gardens of the complex.

Something we loved was that the kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils (including dishwasher) and that made us feel even more like in our own home. Going out to dinner with the children is often impossible because they go from not stopping to sleep on the table in a matter of seconds, so it was very comfortable to be able to make the main meals in the apartment and be a step away from the centre for a walk. Being an apartment, we had proof of what we had to take to use during the stay, although courtesy provided coffee capsules, oil, vinegar, salt, sugar and a tablet for the dishwasher until we made the first purchase.

The decoration of both the apartment and the entire complex was carefully maintained to the smallest detail with minimalist and modern touches. The beds had pillows and viscoelastic mattresses, so we could rest like at home and recover energies for each day.

The common areas of the complex we loved for its freshness and its careful aesthetics. Something that surprised us is that its facilities are prepared for those who perform water sports keep all the material in the box office or any guest can remove the sand before taking it to the apartment in a comfortable freshwater shower at the entrance.

On the roof terrace, there is a solarium and a chill-out area with Balinese beds and sun loungers plus a bar where they serve a delicious breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner or one of the best cocktails or smoothies we have ever tried. The terrace has a lot of charm and is one of the best places to see the sunsets of Corralejo.

The refreshing pool seemed ideal for a relaxing bath and for children to be safe thanks to the lifeguard. They enjoyed it very much.

In the complex there is also a laundry service with a room and a small library where you can enjoy reading while waiting for laundry in the washing machine. Practical things like books in several languages in the laundry, are the small details that make your holidays happy. (Nico my eldest son had left his at home, and so had no excuse to read a little while from the first day).

But without a doubt what won us was Endorfina Club. It is a club where they offer sports activities and tourism of all kinds for those who want to make the most of their holidays.

Fuerteventura is an authentic paradise for lovers of water sports, that’s why Endorfina Club offers kitesurf, SUP and surf courses. In addition to yoga classes, functional training with a personal trainer and rental of city and mountain bikes. The children last year had done a surf course, which they left delighted and this time they wanted to learn kitesurfing, so we booked a three-day course for each one. The course is for maximum two people, so they went together and learned at the same time in a private class.

My husband and I also wanted to practice some activity. They informed me about the different types of yoga they had, and I took a bonus of 5 classes. My husband rented a mountain bike and went on a route that had been recommended by the guys from Endorfina Club that takes you from Corralejo to El Cotillo passing through Majanicho. Small fishing villages with hidden beaches and landscapes with a lot of charm.

The yoga room, overlooking the sea, seemed spectacular. It’s a place that gave me the necessary tranquillity to concentrate while the teacher was guiding me. It is worth trying. Next to the yoga room is the mindfulness area, a place prepared for people who want to sunbathe and relax, where talking is not allowed to ensure maximum tranquillity.

To do something with the family all together, they recommended us the trip to Isla de Lobos, a small island that belongs to Corralejo and is 15 min by boat. Endorfina Club offers a private boat trip around Lobos where the transfer to the port is included, snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters and a class for all levels of paddle surfing, as well as a small snack and a delicious barbecue. All the material was included.

We found the experience hilarious, Kike, the instructor and Carlos, the skipper of the boat, were charming, pranksters and very professional in their work. When we went around Lobos they showed us where the red crabs were placed, we fed the fish while snorkeling and then we enjoyed and learned with the paddle surf class. It was a great day and we even had time to enjoy the sun on the beach of Lobos after paddle surfing.

On the way back to the ship Carlos had prepared some sandwiches, fresh fruit and bottles of water, enough snacks to withstand the hunger until returning to the apartment complex where the tour culminated with a delicious barbecue of fresh fish, accompanied by papas wrinkled with mojo picón (I love them!), garnish and salad, on the rooftop of the complex. We were all delighted with this service.

It has been a great holiday, where we have relaxed, but we have made good use of the time learning new activities and living 100% summer.

As the post started, traveling with children is not an easy task and so it is that everyone has an unforgettable experience, so we recommend Bristol Sunset Beach apartments in Corralejo because it gives the freedom and possibilities to everyone to enjoy each moment and dedicate that fundamental space of time to oneself.

Definitely, a great success and a totally recommendable experience.
